Overview

how install toilet : Overview :
You're new bathroom floor is finished, and all that's left to do is install the toilet. Installing a toilet is not that difficult, and with a couple of basic items and a common household tool you'll soon be flushing your troubles away.

Step 1

Place the toilet on its side and insert the wax seal into the bottom opening of the toilet, being careful not to bend the wax out of shape. Wear gloves because the wax is very sticky and hard to remove from skin and clothing.

Step 2

Tilt the toilet on its bottom edge and grasp it by the sides. Do not to let the wax touch the floor.

Step 3

Lower the toilet directly onto the drain hole, aligning the slots in the side of the bottom with the bolts coming out of the flange in the floor.

Step 4

Sit on the toilet to seat the wax seal, being careful not to rock the toilet. The seal keeps the water from leaking onto the floor, so it is vital that the seal be tight.

Step 5

Screw the nuts onto the floor bolts, using an adjustable wrench and not overtightening since this may crack the porcelain of the toilet.

Step 6

Attach the water supply line to the bottom of the toilet, using the wrench and tightening until snug. Connect the other end to the water supply that is near the floor and just above the shutoff valve.

Step 7

Turn on the shutoff valve and check for leaks in the water supply line. If you find a drip, tighten the connection one half turn at a time until the leak has stopped. Once the toilet has filled, flush and smile!
